I Would Like Credit for a Game Played Please - Hawk Kriegsman - 01-03-2008

Hello H2H,

I just finished testing a scenario and reported it both on the CS ladder (as an SM4) and in the testing area.

My opponent questioned my reporting it on the ladder and now I realize I do not get credit for a game played.

I want the credit for the game played and opponent played. Yes I bonus points but I thought that was for filling out the test report.

Getting bonus points without getting credit for the game is no incentive for me. I may as well just play a regular scenario.

I really don't care about the ladder points all that much, but I do about games and opponents played.

Can we not get credit for a game played?

Thanx!

Hawk

Test games are test games not ladder games. You could report them to the ladder by their SM modifier if you really want to.... but then I could also report another hundred games played or so.

How in the world does this post address my question to the H2H staff of which you are not a part?

Thanx!

Hawk

Hawk,
I am afraid the rules are clear here, a test is a test and a ladder game is a ladder game, so you cannot register both types. :(

If you want the credit for the scenario played then you should leave it as reported and delete the 50 testing points from your bonus points list as at the moment you have been credited with 95 points for this game.

I hope that help clear that up! :)

So in a sense we have an option. Bonus points or ladder points.

I am not asking for both. I would rather have the game.

Let me check with my opponent before deleting anything, because obviously we both need to do the same thing.

Thanx!

Please allow me to interrupt here.

There is actually NO option to report a play testing game as a ladder match.
This is clearly stated in the H2H section.
H2H game reporting is kept separate from ladder listings, so it is fair to both play testers.

By reporting your game as a ladder match, it is unfair to the other player, as their expectation of not having a negative mark on their ladder record is now taken away.

By not recording play tests, players earn points for their efforts, without having to worry about winning or losing records being posted.

The H2H staff felt is was appropriate to follow this procedure to encourage testings without fear of poor records.

The only alternative at this point is to remove the ladder report and do not test any further games if you are not happy with the methods of how the H2H section governs points and rewards to the testers.

Thanks for taking the time to test for the H2H section, sadly note however, the rewards do not meet your expectations or desire at this time.

Fair enough.

You have made it clear. Game is being deleted and I shall not test anymore.

Thanx!

That's the beauty of playtesting you can have your glutemus maximus handed to you and still get some kind of payoff for it :smoke:

Well IMO Erik could still test outside the H2H Productions if he and his opponent mutually agree beforehand that they will report the game to the ladder. Fact is that there are too few people playtesting and any feedback to designers is helpful no matter how it is delivered; whether by an official H2H productions test report or by an email with recommendations or something.

Well said.

While it may not be true for most, when I play test a scenario I play both sides with the same opponent. To me it is the only way you can comment on the scenario accurately.

While it may not be true for most, I don't care about wins and losses as I have plenty of both.

While it may not be true for most, I don't care about points. Again I have plenty.

All I want is credit for the game played.

Thanx!
