Play Test: "PATTON'S GAMBIT" - Bear - 04-17-2010 11 August 1943 Patton was unaware, that at the moment his amphibious landing was happening, the orders for a German disengagement by General Hube was already in motion with an organized retreat eastward through Brolo, Sicily. The Americans may have surprise for the moment, but with the German 71.Pz Gdr Rgt., Herman Goring Division already moving towards the American objective was far more than anyone foresaw. Y'know, it just dawned on me that this battle is vaguely reminiscent of the Battle of Alesia, Rome versus the Goths.
