Night Fatigue question - P.Ako - 06-02-2010

What activites make the units to gain it? Movin and fighting at night or just fighting?

RE: Night Fatigue question - Mr Grumpy - 06-02-2010

Moving and fighting.

RE: Night Fatigue question - P.Ako - 06-03-2010

And during 3 night turns, if an unit is moved only in the first night turn, will they get the same amount of fatigue as another unit that has been fighting/moving the whole 3 night turns?

RE: Night Fatigue question - Ricky B - 06-03-2010

No, fatigue is assessed and recovered per turn, so resting 2 of 3 night turns is better than moving all 3. And taking fire without results does not count as fighting, so in that case the unit would still be resting, assuming no other triggers happen.

RE: Night Fatigue question - Mr Grumpy - 06-03-2010

On the assumption that the night fatigue opt rule is selected......

Night Fatigue – with this rule selected, units that are active during Night turns will accumulate fatigue. The amount of Fatigue accumulated is up half the amount a unit would normally recover during a Night turn. It does not matter how far a unit moves or how many movement points are expended. Even units with no Fatigue may gain some variable amount of Fatigue if they are active during Night turns under this rule.

So if you move or fight you can accumulate up to half the fatigue you would have recovered.

One more minor point - reinforcements that arrive on night turns will also gain fatigue, so you might as well move them on the turn that they enter.

Fatigue gained at night is random, and may even be zero.

But be warned: Fighting at night can be very fatiguing, especially a tough assault.

Digging in also causes Fatigue at night.

True, but you can always defer and not bring them in on that turn. Waiting until the first daylight (or dawn) turn can have some advatages, like avoiding night fatigue.
