Tiger II - Iwo Jim - 11-22-2010

Tamiya 1/35 scale Tiger II I added a alot of little details to this one mostly tools and storage brackets, tow cables, engine intake screens, coated the hull with zimmerit using an autobody spot filler, it can be kind of messy to work with but it takes a while to hardend and gives you time to work and shape it and it dosen't mar the plastic. It's been about 7 years since I've built anything I'm starting to get the itch again.

That's very Good Jim.
You are a talented modeller.
The zimmerit is fantastic.
Did you do the insignia decals over the top? Or are they airbrushed?
Either way, very good indeed. cheers

Zimmerit is something I have always wanted to try, but feel it is far out of my league for now anyway.

Big ups Jim.

Yes I used decals, I used micro sol to soften them up quite a bit to get them to conform to the surface, you just have to be real careful with them at that point since they will tear very easily.

Yeah it was a little bit, I actually use a section of a toothpaste tube top to roll the impressions into the putty
