Why can't I assault this hex? - KG_RangerBooBoo - 01-01-2016 Trying to assault hex 19,4 in the 0611_03: Le Hamel - The Salient but keep getting an error message that my infantry can't enter the hex. I get the error message that "Unit cannot enter hex" but from 19,5 there shows to be no hindrance and from 20,3 there is only a low wall. You probs know that already. So why doesn't it show it as an embankment? Am I supposed to get that from the rail hex because none of the hexside info showed that. RE: Why can't I assault this hex? - Dog Soldier - 01-01-2016 In scenario #0611_03: Le Hamel - The Salient the hex (19,4) is a village Brouay with a RR running through it. If you zoom in you can see the RR embankment is raised like in Kursk. The Green Howards start in the northern part of this scenario. They are foot infantry. they can enter Brouay. If your infantry (foot) is assaulting stacked with armor then it is the armor the error message is referring to and not the foot infantry. Send me the game file if you are still having trouble with this assault. Dog Soldier RE: Why can't I assault this hex? - wildb - 01-01-2016 I just got the game today. Ran some tests. There are several hexes like that and it appears to be an elevated RR line. You can only enter them by following the elevated RR in travel mode. I was moving the German units positioned in that area. You have to follow the RR until the RR is no longer in the elevated mode. That is, you cannot just move off the elevated RR line where you want to. This applies to infantry, artillery, and vehicles. You can also have only one unit in travel mode on the elevated RR. No stacking allowed. If you put the infantry unit in foot mode it can move into the hex from any direction and stack with another unit. I just looked at the information box and it shows elevation as 50+5m - my guess is that the 5m is the height of the elevated RR. |
