Yesterday Kerry Stokes bought a VC earned by Captain Shout at Lone Pine where there were 5 awarded. It cost him $1.000.000 and he donated it to the Australian War Memorial where it is the last of the Gallipoli medals in private hands. Captaaaain Shout's grandson needed the moneey for family caancer probleems so I'm sssure CaptianShout would have approved. :) |
