RE: ...!halftracks!... - Herr Straße Laufer - 03-30-2007 A halftrack post! Do I need to break out my photo's of a Bren Carrier, taken from up close? Definately no tankette! But bigger than you would think! ;) But, I will also have to find my book were a story related a group of Bren's dismounting it's infantry, in a desert battle. They used fire from the squads to pin the enemy down and drove the Bren carriers, with bren guns blazing, to overrun the enemy anti tank gun positions! What would opponents say about that one? :smoke: It's kinda like overrunning artillery? If that's what you have to do it with, of course! That is not taking unloaded transports and using them deep in the enemy rear to spot for artillery and planes? It is using the unit in the way it was intended. The Germans modified captured Bren carriers and mounted 20 mm to 37 mm AT guns on them. Interesting little piece? What would that be classified as? Ed RE: ...!halftracks!... - Dogovich - 03-30-2007 Ah... the great Ed! Killer of halftracks.... slayer of armored crews... and all of them his own men! Who better to get a halftrack comment from?
