RE: Map Building - K K Rossokolski - 09-22-2009 Very grateful if you would, Peter. Have a Dell laptop 1.6 ghz 1 gb RAM 2002 Home edition xp [email protected] RE: Map Building - zeiss - 09-22-2009 I actually tested this not long ago. 500 x 500 1000 x 1000 2000 x 2000 Works fine in the map editor. It may be a different story in the game though. RE: Map Building - Glint - 09-23-2009 Ok Rod, will get to it now. regards Peter RE: Map Building - Glint - 09-23-2009 Well, it seems the map can be created but then When I went to save it, I got an 'application error' ! The map saved loads up but, when it loads, the 'file error' comes up. I'd suggest it ain't working right and if you to try build a scenario up with all the work involved on a map that size, you're in for a big disappointment ? I'll send you the file Rod, see what it does at your end. regards Peter RE: Map Building - Glint - 09-23-2009 file's been e-mailed to you Rod. regards Peter RE: Map Building - K K Rossokolski - 09-23-2009 I tried glints' ploy but it doesn't work...collapses when I try to save, as was the original symptom. Would Pz VI and zeiss try a WF Desert 700 x 450, and send a copy to me? Both saved and unsaved if possible. For the computer experts, could this be due to different OS?....my profound understanding suggests unlikely, but on occasion my computer knowledge has proven inadequate. RE: Map Building - Panzer VI - 09-23-2009 Ah, now I see what you guys are talking about.I tried making a 700 x 450 WF Desert Map but I get an error when I try to save it. Jason, can't you just up the limit to make unlimited?Or increase the limit to 1000? RE: Map Building - zeiss - 09-24-2009 Same here. I can sometimes save it without error but the terrain always disappears.. RE: Map Building - K K Rossokolski - 09-24-2009 While we're on this...what do people think about maps with North not on top? For example, what might you feel of a Western Desert map with for example, Cairo at the bottom and Tunis at the top, meaning north is at 3 o'clock. Or the other way around. I know a lot of early custom scens have north in all dirrent directions. RE: Map Building - K K Rossokolski - 09-24-2009 For "dirrent" read "different". |
