RE: Graphics mod(s) for HPS 1776 - Al Amos - 04-17-2011

I'd love to see 3D map icon units to be in two ranks for line and column of two's for columns, with more troops involved than currently. Much like the mods one finds for the Nap and ACW series.

Also the buildings and town 3D map icons need to be reworked, imo.

If so, ill post about it on my blog and send you a copy^^

That is great news, looking forward to that! ...now I got to go over to NWS and pull the trigger finally on the purchase.

Yes, that is correct. I made the 3Dground file with elements from the campaign series ground graphics pasted on top of the Tiller/HPS version of the ground files. I altered the colours to show elevation better. I also made versions for mud terrain and snow terrain the same way.

These were made several years ago, so it is probably time for making updated versions of the graphics files :smoke:

The 3Dground files can be used in the ACW, NAP, EAW and REN series by the way......

This is still on my to-do list. Just been real busy with other stuff lately. The upcoming tourney does inspire me to do some more work on this.

We can collaborate too Trauth. I actually have a base 3D soldier made for this era and it looks pretty good - I have a min-pic posted on my blog. I also made 3D tiles that the units sit on (starting as true 3D objects they will have perspective) and I was last working on a british grenadier hat (I think its the "beehive" bearfur one or was it beaver fur?).

But if I do one army in say... campaign 1776, then I'd have to do them all so that they all match.

And in Campaign 1776... hats off to the designers because there really are a lot of units in there - its not just redcoats and blue coats.

I have begun work on terrain tiles too.

I'm sure there are alot of game owners who will be more than happy to have some more art mods at their disposal.

Looking forward to seeing the finished product. Keep us posted!

I simply cannot play 1776 with the stock units.bmp file and was not much satisfied with any units.bmp mods I saw. Does anyone have a list of what the units.bmp icon numbers are supposed to represent, especially for the modded scenarios, with the new oobs?

Sorry, I can't help you. I have no clue about the numbers. Hopefully one of guys will have the info you are looking for.
