RE: A Legend is Born? - Crossroads - 12-29-2010 I'm into the first turn at this one as well. Against Erik, no doubt I will start leaving a smoky trail on Panthers behind me - as the German player, of course :kill:. What would be the recommended reading regarding the battle of Arracourt? I assume "Patton's Vanguard" by Don Fox would be a logical choice for any campaign serieser? I've always enjoyed these scenarios with a book next to the battle. I've read several books about Normandy, but here I am on new ground. Meanwhile, found this; http://cgsc.cdmhost.com/cdm4/document.php?CISOROOT=/p4013coll2&CISOPTR=1763&REC=2 - a thesis from sixties regarding the battle. RE: A Legend is Born? - Crossroads - 01-03-2011 Here's more free reading for your enjoyment! While waiting for Patton's Vanguard to arrive from Amazon, I found this: The Lorraine Campaign, by Hugh M Cole: http://www.history.army.mil/books/wwii/lorraine/lorraine-content.html Arracourt tank battle, in chapter V: http://www.history.army.mil/books/wwii/lorraine/lorraine-ch05.html#b4 |
