Each time I try to assign fighters from the same squadron to escort 2 differents strikes, all the fighters follow the first strike and not the second one... here's another save...  RE: HPS Midway questions - Gary McClellan - 03-07-2012 I kicked this back up the foodchain again, though I haven't heard back. That said, I think I see what's happening here. If you create combined strikes (both bomb and torpedo aircraft in the same overall strike) and then assign the escorting fighters to escort that combined group, it works fine. The issues are arising because you are creating separate strikes for the SBD and TBD groups. There are times you need to do that, so I'm kicking this up to John, but for the short term, if you run your strikes as consolidated ones, you'll avoid most of the problems. We can already divide our CAP on differents ships, so I've thought we could do the same with escort and strikes.
