If somebody out there can make a board game of it, then somebody out there can make a puter game for it. A world wide game that would cover land, sea and air similar to WitP, but less complicated, but with a better land portion, perhaps? A series that would cover ww2 like that could also have another for ww1 and another for post ww2 for either the many smaller wars or a hypothetical ww3. Get something like that going and things could be adjusted further to cover earlier wars like Naps, ACW, Revolution and world colonialism itself. There should be more complication in your decision making and less in the game itslef, but not to the point of something like Risk or Axis and Allies. They would have to have the historical accuracy angle.
