Got it. Okay, but my next question would be: What about the forts that do start at -30%+15, like Fort Evegnee? Are these forts damaged in some way to start? In other words, what is the reason some forts have the lower value as opposed to the -60%+30 at the outset? Purely a historical question about the nature of this ring of forts which I'd [rightly or wrongly] assume to be of uniform and contemporary construction.

There are two types of forts. FORTS and Forts. FORTS represent the largest forts, and of course the largest forts that have not been destroyed/vacated. Forts represent vacated/destroyed large FORTS, but also represent smaller fortresses.

If you look at the units inside of those Forts at the start of the scenario, then you will see that less guns than the FORTS units. If you right click on them, you will also see that their name says "(small fort)". All is correct there. :)

Great. That explains it, thanks for the clarification. Your scholarship on this series is unparalleled.

RE: Help with F '14 Liege Kustenmorser Setup - merovingian - 03-05-2015

Guys,

A simple question but I cannot find the answer in the manual:

The Getting started scenario has several Kustenmorser batteries arrive. The units say "Setup Required". Does that occur automatically after a set number of turns or must a command be issued?

If a command how does one do that?

Deploy the units out of travel mode - use the Change Travel Mdoe button to deploy them. Then there is a chance each turn that they will set up and be ready to fire, so it is random but will happen within a few turns, normally.

RE: Help with F '14 Liege - Many Mariuses - 03-06-2015

Ed,

Having recently picked up F'14, I wanted to extend my appreciation for a job well done! The game does a great job of capturing the different "feel" of WWI, and the results seem are quite plausible (which is really the best we can hope for in a war game, IMHO). I am quite excited for the future of the series, and EP '14 is on my short list the next time the CFO authorizes another purchase.

Sorry to hijack the thread. Smile
