RE: Sherman tank myths debunked - Weasel - 04-02-2018 The PzIV was a gasoline engine that is for sure. If I remember correctly the initial problem with the Sherman was the ammo wasn't "wet" stored, so any penetration set off the ammo which I don't think was a problem with the IV. Later they shielded the ready ammo to reduce ignition. May be wrong, going off memory here. |
