For the "Williams & Sinatra" scenarios the value is set to -1 MP which means impassible. Thanks for the info, its is so long since I have played scenarios with AT ditch's I just could not remember the mechanics of how they worked.  Anyway thanks for accessing the C40 notes, I got an answer back from Ed that mirrored the info you posted from the notes, Ed added the comments about looking after the engineers after I played the C40 campaign and assumed engineers could retreat into mine hex's (unlike normal units) only to see one of my units destroyed when it turns out they cannot!!  You live and learn...……...
