Gent: It's a toss up between Fulda Gap '85 and Danube Front '85. I've played about an equal number of PBeM matches from both games. Fast, furious, and exciting! Pick one and go for it! I recommend you stay away from ME'67 and Korea '85 as your first purchases in the MC Series. ME'67 scenarios are predominately Israeli walk overs... and Korea '85 are infantry heavy slug fests. RE: Middle East '67 Gold Update - WargameGeneral - 02-08-2020 I am tending towards DF '85 as it also covers some scenarios from my homelands in the North. I guess there is also quiet a change of technology from ME starting in 1967 compared to DF in 1985, where battles are probably deadlier and cover larger distances. If I recall correctly, the Israelis used to run Guderian's Blitzkrieg tactics for their mechanized forces in their earlier organization. In that respect, the early battles in ME '67 will probably be more comparable to the early-war PzC titles... Gent: No. The early battles in ME'67 are reminiscent of the late WW2 period as the Egyptians sometimes used surplus Russian equipment - e.g. T34/85, SU-100, SU-85, JS-2, etc. RE: Middle East '67 Gold Update - WargameGeneral - 02-10-2020 Got it... RE: Middle East '67 Gold Update - WargameGeneral - 02-10-2020 Did Jison produce any map mods for the modern campaign titles? His website online appears to list WW2 titles: http://mapmod.se/ I did a quick search and found this: https://www.theblitz.club/message_boards/showthread.php?tid=72406&highlight=mapmod Are the respective maps compatible with Danube Front '85 Version 2.01 Gold? |
