I have read 1914 by Solzhenitsyn many years ago, the book is for Tannenberg what War and Peace is for Borodino ;-) A couple of books about the Austro-Hungarian Empire, not related to FWWC but to the war in general: The Good Soldier Švejk by czech writer Jaroslav Hašek; really funny, alas unfinished. Die letzten Tage der Menschheit (the last days of mankind) by Karl Kraus; dark humour. |
