RE: Reinforcements who don't arrive - Outlaw Josey Wales - 07-15-2020 Look at it as 50%, either they arrive or they don't. I have been unlucky with that most of the time. An opp would get the reinforcements on time and I would get them too late or not at all. I just write it off as bad communications, needed vehicle or vehicles don't start or something else. You can bet that happened in real life. Memory is a bit fogged, but, I remembered reading somewhere that 23rd Pz Div couldn't move a lot of their stuff as the result of field mice chewing through wires. If it wasn't 23rd Pz, it was another. It is what it is. RE: Reinforcements who don't arrive - wildb - 07-15-2020 It was the 22nd Panzer Division and it occurred during Operation Uranus. Field mice had eaten the electrical wires in the tanks and prevented the division from taking part in the counterattack against the Soviet breakthrough of the Romanian 3rd Army. The American name for this kind of occurrence was SNAFU. |
