RE: (!!! 1940 IS ON !!!) The World in Flames Tournament - von Manstein - 03-26-2011 'Fighting Frenchman' fought well but didn't stopped our Victorious Army. Minor Victory for Axis (it was so close to Major, last charge of French spoiled all) PzIII appeared useless against French tanks, only engineers and PzIV (witch supposed to support infantry) could do something but there was not enough of them. Anyway see ya in Paris :) RE: (!!! 1940 IS ON !!!) The World in Flames Tournament - Otto von Blotto - 03-26-2011 It was a good tough game, the axis did deserve a major really, as you fought a canny battle that my troops could do little about for most of the game. Well played. PS French tanks, tough but very slow. :hissy: with armor facing off you don't get the benefit of running rings around them. :whis: RE: (!!! 1940 IS ON !!!) The World in Flames Tournament - Crossroads - 03-28-2011 Generals, here's the latest situation brief. Anything I missed let me know. DeathDealer, was that a Major or a Minor you achieved? I entered it as a Minor for now. EDIT: I noticed your post below. I will update the situation brief accordingly, might not be until next weekend I have time to post it though... Additionally, after consideration and discussion with Liaison officers, I decided to award the Axis 7 points (instead of the 3 * 7 points) for the Abyssinia team game, based on the fear the scenario is very biased towards a Axis Major victory... RE: (!!! 1940 IS ON !!!) The World in Flames Tournament - Death~Dealer - 03-28-2011 Verrückte- the Axis scored a Major Victory in Askim Bridges- RE: ( 1941 - OPTIONAL RULES? ) The World in Flames Tournament - Crossroads - 04-05-2011 Battles for 1940 are still going on for a week or three. Meanwhile, what about optional rules settings for the coming 1941 phase. Slowly, tanks will be tanks, infantry becomes deadlier. So far we've played ALL = on excl. AF, VV off. Should we change it for a round or two? ALL = on; EA, VV = off? For old times sake? RE: ( 1941 - OPTIONAL RULES? ) The World in Flames Tournament - von Manstein - 04-05-2011 NO!!! Not EA off. Please not EA off. RE: ( 1941 - OPTIONAL RULES? ) The World in Flames Tournament - Crossroads - 04-05-2011 (04-05-2011, 04:54 AM)von Manstein Wrote: NO!!! Not EA off. Please not EA off. I assume that represents a vote for keeping the rules as they were :smoke: What about rest of you guys? RE: ( 1941 - OPTIONAL RULES? ) The World in Flames Tournament - ernst - 04-05-2011 Yes, please keep the rules. I have a lot of fun with EA on. ernst RE: ( 1941 - OPTIONAL RULES? ) The World in Flames Tournament - Peiper - 04-05-2011 The axis team can report a major victory in Spain in the scene "Indecision at Brunete". I think we should play the old scenes also with the old rules which made for it. EA Off! EA Off! Seconded, most of the scn's played so far weren't made with EA I think the default should have been EA off unless it was made for it not the other way round as we have been playing although one of goals of this tournament was to play outside our comfort zones, so maybe those that normally play with it off should try with it on and vice versa. |
