RE: Games & Burnout - Jeepster777 - 09-20-2006 When I first started playing PBEM games on the Blitz ladder I went out of my way to get my turns out everynight...no matter how tired or burned out I was..... and it started to turn into a chore... : ( Now I have slowed down and play when I am relaxed and ready... ...it is much more enjoyable, even if it has affected my return rate.. Plus..on every Monday I watch movies with my son....and on Tuesdays I dedicate time to play multiplayer WarcraftIII with him..... (have a home network and a couple of fast PC's) So if all my glorious esteemed Blitz opponents wonder why I have slowed down....now you know why.... plus.....no more burn out and the game is still as fresh as ever to me...... :) Cheers, Eddie Jeepster777 RE: Games & Burnout - Rustbelt - 09-21-2006 I think I have had classic case of burnouts.... SEVERAL TIMES! Some of you may remember that I played many, many, many games about 5 years ago. I played in three separate clubs and had more than 100 games in each club. Many of the games were not even reported. I believe I had as many as 25 games going at once. With that type of rate, I got burned out rather quickly. My solution? I just stopped playing. However, once I got to 1 game remaining, I started to play more. I got burned out again quickly after that. It got to the point that I did not care much about winning and losing. I just wanted to quickly complete the game. This year, I have been way too busy with my travel and other schedules to play too many. Frankly, I have not played for a little while now. |
