RE: Matrixgames CS - Tiger 88 - 05-17-2007 Jason or Dog - any word on how well the testing is going with Windows VIsta? Latest word was that it is working on Vista, but now stopped working on 98. A fix is due shortly. Take care and good luck Jason Petho RE: Matrixgames CS - Jason Petho - 05-17-2007 Huib Wrote:Dogovich Wrote:- Unmounted horses that move. For East Front, some of the new units include pontoon ferries and crewed boats. Pontoon ferries for vehicles and crewed boats for infantry. If they work well, they be "patched" into West Front and Rising Sun. Hope that helps Take care and good luck Jason Petho RE: Matrixgames CS - Tankertony - 05-18-2007 God Bless You. God bless the Campaign Series. God bless Matrix Games. Life is Good. RE: Matrixgames CS - Dogovich - 05-18-2007 Add to my last list: - Double the personnel type SPs that a truck/HT/or APC can carry, in the same way that tank riders are treated. I really doubt that most platoons had upwards of 6 ea. HTs/Trucks/APCs/etc carrying them around. Already have a good idea of how to implement this. Would make our DG APC/IFV platoons the proper size, and do the same with transport helicopter units. - Cav that shoots while it is mounted or not. - Boats, rafts, and light LCPs that can be transported overland by truck (gives a whole new meaning to river crossing). - Reduce cav/motorcycle passenger vulnerability to aimed fire (my research shows that mounted cavalry of the 20th century was not as easy a target as one is led to believe, especially in colonial anti-guerilla campaigns). RE: Matrixgames CS - McIvan - 05-18-2007 Add tank riders to that list Dogovich....they're in the same category of vulnerability....I fully agree it seems silly that a single round of attack 1 blind artillery can and usually will wipe out every tank rider/motorcycle rider/horserider in a hex. RE:Matrixgames CS - Huib Versloot - 05-18-2007 RE: Matrixgames CS - Asiaticus - 05-21-2007 To second what Wyatt wrote, the WF section of the game has many addons developed in the PB#3 project for WF. Thanks to all who contributed its pretty impressive. New units for the battles in the West Front area have been added, particularly for the Balkans, North Africa, Middle East, Madagascar, Ethiopia and even a hypotheical in Spain. Many of the PB#1 units that were used in the west are there, along with captured armour used by the Germans in North Africa and elsewhere. Also ther are improved and new Allied units including heavy artillery, tanks with enhanced armor and guns from the late period, rocket units and others including more aircraft in general for all sides. Partisan forces for the conquered nations appear for France, Yugoslavia, Spain and Greece. New countries include for the Axis: Croatia, Bugaria, Iraq, Iran and Nationalist Spain. For the Allies: Brazil, Ethiopia, Albania (Partisans), Republican Spain The game will allow scenarios for the Ethiopian Conquest 1935-36 and the Spanish Civil War 1936-39 and WWII in Ethiopia and Spain. There are a couple of scenarios for the Spanish Civil War, one pretty large (Brunete) that recreates the first critical 3 days of that battle. Rising Sun back dates now to 1931 so scenarios for battles in Manchuria against the Chinese Volunteer Armies and Communist army in 1931-41, North China and Inner Mongolia 1933-36 may made as well as the Battles of the Sino Japanese War 1937-45. Likewise battles of the 1930's Encirclement campaigns and Long March between the PLA and KMT can be recreated. With the Russians Far Eastern OOB in RS the battles of Chengkufeng, Khalkhin Gol and the 1945 August Storm invasion of Manchuria or Hypotheticals of an Invasion of Japan can be recreated as well as any theoretical battle in a Japanese invasion of the USSR in 1941-42. Lots to play with here. RE: Matrixgames CS - majog - 05-21-2007 Just a not to all those wonderful things people are requesting and being worked on. They will change the balance of scn. What was balanced as HvsH may not be any more. I went through that with DGVN just adding boats that could fire and making civilians a negative value. It may also change the rules of engagement somewhat. Not that either is a problem or we could never improve the games just that testing and or understanding needs to be considered when playing games with the new units.
