I am finding I must agree with some of the things you say.

1) Bud is swill, but not all American beer is.

2) Starbucks is NOT coffee. It's a Desert Shoppe selling coffee flavored confections. Coffee should be strong and most Americans don't know how to drink it.

The rest of your blather about the language and sports is just heat stroke or some other oceanic infliction though :stir:

I second the notion that you wasted your quid on Budweiser, a good ice cold Samuel Adams should have gotten you going tho... however the local brewery near here has a fine taste and down to earth website Big Grin

I was considering applying here for work..

I no longer drink beer but still drink coffee. American mass produced beer and coffee are for everyday consumption.

Weekends and on occasion (or is it occazion?) there are some good microbrews and I grind my own Starbucks beans, bought cheap at Costco, and have it black and somewhat strong.

I do remember an oatmeal stout from the East coast that was very pleasant. Canadian ales and beers better than most 'mare-u-cun stuff.

The Cammo versions are best I think although I still play H2H and the enhansed versions also.

I have to agree with RD Sam Adams is the best beer if you have to drink American product. Bud is like making love in a cannoe...It's @#$%$#@ close to water. Big Grin Starbucks I never tried lots of them in this neck of the woods unfortunately I'm loyal to Dunkin Donuts Coffee

Powers, I'm as Texan as the next real man in this thread complaining about the American habit of streamlining and improving the cribhouse whore that is our common language, but if you live in the same city as your service provider and are not going down to Lovejoy's on Sixth Street to drink that handcrafted slacker beer, the beer gods will be frowning upon you. The only acceptable place in the universe to drink Lone Star is the Broken Spoke.

And while I'm here, p'shah on the "ruggers do it without pads" hocum upstream. Rugby tackles don't begin to compare to real football tackles unless some suicidal wanker is trying to make the highlight reel. Same thing for the Aussies, who usually have to worry too much about grappling. Rugby union is, admittedly, insane, but real football is like being in a car wreck every 20 seconds for 2.5 hours. No comparison.
