RE: Map Building - Glint - 09-25-2009 Can't see a problem at all with that Rod? I remember playing 'Tobruk'. Although the map is North to the top, the Germans were attacking from the East with the Italians to the South. A bit like orienteering I guess, once you work out where you are heading, set-up of the map is immaterial? regards Peter RE: Map Building - Reddog - 09-26-2009 Good topic... I find the scenarios more enjoyable if the front lines run from south to north or north to south (up & down). That way moving troops are much easier to track going across the battlefield. Plus watching the replay both sides view the action looking in front of you. If not then one player views the replay upside down. Granted all you have to do is shift the map 180 (pressing the "R" key) to view the battle and replays behind your troops. Just my thoughts but moving troops seems more controllable if you push them forward instead of pulling them down. Just a visual preference that's all... I enjoy playing large battles size 9+ and that's what I'm basing my comments on. |
