The V4Victory series did a lot of things right. You'd probably have a hard time thinking of something they did wrong. I still miss the way they handled allocating supply.

As for unit identification, Panzer Campaigns already has a set of 'Unknown Unit' images. It would be fairly simple to come up with half a dozen more that are slightly more explicit (generic tank, generic field gun, generic infantry, generic transport vehicle). Then all that would be needed would be to convince JT to write the program to make these unit images appear until the unit is fully revealed.

And once that infantry unit is fully revealed, then you'll notice that that infantry unit sort of looks German but has a Georgian arm patch national identifier instead of a balkenkreuz (if you're using my Normandy mod, that is).

SIMPLE or the programming complexity was never an issue
