RE: What are you currently reading? - Ozgur Budak - 09-02-2012 Portals to Hell: Military Prisons of the Civil War by Lonnie Speer http://www.amazon.com/Portals-Hell-Military-Prisons-Civil/dp/0803293429 RE: What are you currently reading? - Nikb - 09-02-2012 I've been re-reading all of Christian Camerons books. Just finished Killer of Men and Marathon. Nearly finished Alexander. He really is my favourite author. Superb at his craft. Over the last year or two I haven't been into reading much non-fiction. I did pick up the Trafalgar Companion by Mark Adkin which I very much enjoyed (also have his Waterloo and Gettysburg Companions). RE: What are you currently reading? - Marc Bellizzi - 09-12-2012 I highly recommend, "The Dead Hand" by NY Times writer David Hoffman. It covers the Soviet Nuclear program and the post Cold War efforts of the US to help dismantle Soviet nukes, as well as the revalations that were uncovered during that effort. It also covers the Soviet violation of the 1973 Biological Weapons Treaty in excruciating detail. They should make that book required reading at the State Department. lol. You can pick it up on Amazon pretty cheap now, like $6 - $8. Non-fiction, well documented sources, it scared the bejeezus out of me. Liked it so much I sat down and read the sequel Adrian's War in one sitting. |
