RE: Spanish Civil War - rahamy - 01-24-2019 All the SB titles will still run on XP. It should be noted however that with the next round of updates (that are in the works) XP will no longer be supported. We're hoping to start rolling those out this year. If you despise Win 10, and many do, Win 7 is still a good option. You can get refurbished machines for a couple of hundred bucks that will handle the Tiller games just fine... if you need options. RE: Spanish Civil War - Warhorse - 01-24-2019 Yup, I run Win 7 64, everything runs fine on it. I'm intrigued by the pre-ww2 setting and the history of the SCW. I'm glad there's some interest in pbem'ing this game. :) I might just get it now. I took the plunge and got SCW and am having a ball. In the scenario I'm currently playing, I'm on the attack and have only bolt rifles and a few SMG's. It almost has a western movie feel to it. I've compared it to the Magnificent Seven movie. The officers are Brynner, McQueen and Coburn, and the squads are the townspeople. RE: Spanish Civil War - Compass Rose - 01-25-2019 Glad to hear that you love SCW. Looks like you are on your way to being a JTS addict like the rest of us! RE: Spanish Civil War - MikeC - 01-25-2019 (01-25-2019, 09:34 AM)Compass Rose Wrote: Glad to hear that you love SCW. I'm not much of a modder (yet). Can a player using mods PBEM a player who is not using mods? Are most of the mods graphical and sound enhancements? RE: Spanish Civil War - Compass Rose - 01-25-2019 Yes, you will have no problem using art mods and playing a PBEM opponent who is not using them. Here is an example of what the Top-Down art mods look like. https://www.theblitz.club/message_boards/showthread.php?tid=71105&pid=422474#pid422474 https://www.theblitz.club/message_boards/showthread.php?tid=69659 RE: Spanish Civil War - MikeC - 01-25-2019 (01-25-2019, 11:21 AM)Compass Rose Wrote: Yes, you will have no problem using art mods and playing a PBEM opponent who is not using them. Yeah, I'm new to this forum, but just from browsing around, I gained a healthy respect for Ed. Wish I could have known him and gamed with him. I would guess that some of the guys I've been playing have been using these mods. |
