My opp had been delayed. Got a turn last night and just checked it, we are on turn 13 of 18.

Thanks to all for the updates.

I would really like all games from one year finished before the next year kicks-off. Please could you each email your opponents and see if there is any way that these game can be rushed to a conclusion - I would really like to try and get 1943 on the go. I appreciate all your efforts with this regard.

Please note, Tournament games should take first priority, team games next and then other games.

Regards,
Ashley

The Official World in Flames Tournament Thread UPDATE - Ashcloud - 01-16-2012

To all team members,

I have been having a little rethink on the format, because at the end of every round we end up waiting weeks for the stragglers - I think we should change the format from rounds to a continuous stream of games. In other words as one scenario ends and an opponent becomes available, I will then assign the next scenario on the dateline and we continue until the war is over.

That way productive players can fit in many games in the same time span that slower members might play one game. It will also encourage the faster players to spur their opponents on if they slow down. Please remember to place tournament games as your first priority, then team games and then other games.

I have been working on some graphics for the Tournament badges/medals which will be awarded at the conclusion of the tournament, I will post them on the forum shortly (if anyone wants to improve on them or re-design them then please let me know - I am no graphic designer). There will be an award for participation (if you play at least 5 games in the tournament). Most games played for either team and highest points tally for either team will receive additional medals/badges.

Can I please get some feedback on the change in format.

Regards,
Ashley

I like the idea. Waiting for stragglers does not do any good for the tournament IMHO.

The Official World in Flames Tournament Medals/Badges - Ashcloud - 01-16-2012

Here are the medals/badges for the Tournament.

All members who complete 5 games for the team receive one of these:

Top point scorers and most games played get these:

As I said I am not a graphic designer so if anyone wants to improve or re-design these for the better then let me know.

Ashley

Hey Ashley:

I think it is a good idea! :)

Having such a long "lull" between tourney matches... does nobody any good? In fact, it may "encourage" players to drop out... since everything is at a standstill waiting for stragglers... and folks may wish to move on to other games? Idea2

Let's get going with 1943! Big Grin2 50cal

I like the badges ...
To Axis CinC: I'm ready for next assignment and still fighting for my 'Iron Cross' MG.

1943 has started. I have dispatched the first bunch of assignments. Please remember to report your results here and let me know if you are ready to continue on to your next assignment. We are not stopping again until the war is over.

ALL rules ON except EA and VV OFF. (Unless, of course, a scenario is explicitly balanced for certain rules)
