RE: Quick ladder question... - Montana Grizz - 07-08-2009 I don't believe I have ever played against an opponent with a greater ELO rating than myself that hasn't tried to help me with my game. Some people are better teachers than others and Ed is one of the best! He made some games more challenging for himself by providing me the more advantageous side. Obviously this plays a factor when it comes to ratings. I have played against many a highly rated player (2100+) with my humble (mid-1800's). If my opponents are concerned about their ELO, then they gain very little from playing against me while risking a great deal. My opinion is that most highly rated players enjoy playing the game and do not care a great deal about their ELO rating. |
