A new scenario posted in H2H - Full Auto - 07-20-2006 Hey All, I just posted a new scenario in the H2H section. It is called: The British Strike Back. May 21,1940 The 7th Panzer Division had its sights set on Arras and the channel coast beyond. As the Germans attacked the town there was some initial confusion among the Allied defenders as Arras was the army border between the BEF and the French 9th Army. The British rushed forces to the town and managed to hold back the Germans, Besides the BEF, some troops from the French 3rd Light Mechanized Division were in position to help hold the flank along the Scarpe River west of Arras. Desperate to stem the German tide and buy the Allied forces some time to regroup, the BEF launched a counterattack to the south and west of Arras. The British under General Martel using Matilda I's and II's and supporting troops from the Durham Light Infantry forced the German 7th Panzer Division to a halt. The Germans watched in disbelief as their 37 and 50 mm shells bounced off the thick armor of the Matildas. The German troops were shaken and morale wavered. The Germans were steadied only by the intervention of Rommel himself and some timely help from a couple of 88mm Flak batteries. The British attack knocked out some 40 German tanks and took several hundred prisoners. This attack proved the British could hold thier own even against the overwhelming odds of the German Blitzkrieg. It is a large 35 turn scenario with plenty of armor and many attack and defense options. Enjoy!
