On Divided Ground... - Abatis - 08-04-2006 Ok, so Divided Ground arrived in the mail today, and of course I'm going to mod it to DGVN; it's why I got it afterall...I'd like to know though, does anybody play just plain old DG? Should I try to install this twice? I never hear anyone talk about it, so not figuring many do play...just curious. ?? RE: On Divided Ground... - Tide1 - 08-04-2006 Brian there are a few good custom scenarios for DG but I have to admit I play it mostly for VN. The scenarios for VN are very good ;) Gary RE: On Divided Ground... - Jeepster777 - 08-05-2006 Hello Brian, The 3 best DG scenarios IMHO are.... DG Israeli Assault DG Attack on Port Said DG Adan Takes Abu Aghleila.....Again ...but the DGVN scenarios Jorge has made are still overall much more fun.......... Eddie Jeepster777 RE: On Divided Ground... - Major BS - 08-05-2006 Hey guys, There are two different sets of instructions on the DG VN website regarding installation. To which should I refer? I assume the 3-2-06 instructions, but I want to be sure before I start happily cutting and pasting. Thanks! RE: On Divided Ground... - Abatis - 08-05-2006 Do all 13 mods pertain to VN? Do all of them need to be installed to get DGVN to run? And the Mod section says "outdated"...is there another page? B. RE: On Divided Ground... - Fubar1 - 08-05-2006 I'm pretty sure Jorge used up all his website space. Contact him via e-mail directly if you want the latest and greatest. RE: On Divided Ground... - Major BS - 08-05-2006 Just by looking, I don't think all 13 mods apply directly to DG VN. I e-mailed Jorge today prior to Fubar1's and Abatis' most recent comments, and he has very amicably and swiftly replied to my inquiry as follows: "Go all the way to the bottom of the mod page. It says use this after 5-9-05. Follow the instructions on which files to load first. I think they are pretty much in order though": "1. DGARVN2.00.zip 2. DGBrit2.00.zip 3. DGCommon2.00.zip 4. DGFrench2.00.zip 5. DGNVA2.00.zip (contains boat changes) 6. DGNamCommon2.00.zip 7. DGSoviet2.00.zip 8. DGUSA2.00.zip 9. DGUSPictures.zip 10. DG2.00.zip 11. DG28Islamics2.00.zip 12. DG14Muslems2.00.zip 13. http://webzoom.freewebs.com/dgvnmods/!!platoon10.zip This overwites the platoon 10 files to fix the unlimited fire rate of the FAC. 14. http://webzoom.freewebs.com/dgvnmods/dg-terrain.zip 15. http://webzoom.freewebs.com/dgvnmods/VN-Caves.zip (changes pillboxes to cave which represent NVA tunnel systems) 16. http://webzoom.freewebs.com/dgvnmods/up21226.zip (place a Red "C" on civilian units) 17. http://webzoom.freewebs.com/dgvnmods/DGModsInstallation.zip (Zipped Word format of the instructions) 18. http://webzoom.freewebs.com/dgvnmods/screenspack.zip (menus to DGVN format) 3-2-06: 19. Load last... new movement files: http://www.freewebs.com/dgvnmods/DGMovementfiles.zip" Having done all of this...I still can't seem to make the DGVN set up actually work. Do I put the DG CD in the drive? It seems to go straight to regular DG that way? I'm pretty computer challenged...so I may have missed something and any further help about how to get the program to actually run would be much appreciated. Thanks! RE: On Divided Ground... - Hog of War - 08-05-2006 Once the cd is in the drive, you'll need to click on the DG file applicaion in your DGVN folder since it defaults to the normal DG (in the normal DG folder). I've created a shortcut to the DGVN file and put it in the tool bar (or desktop) to easily access this file. You can create a shortcut by right clicking on your desktop, going in the menu to create new shortcut, browsing to the DGVN folder, and selecting the DG executable file. Hope this helps RE: On Divided Ground... - Major BS - 08-05-2006 Sweet! Thanks! RE: On Divided Ground... - John Given - 08-05-2006 |
