SPWAW 8.4 Campaigns? - Canadian Steel - 08-23-2006 Anyone know where I can find every campaign made for this game, I know games Depot doesn't have them all. I have Russian Steel, 2nd SS Das Reich ( Almost finised Das Reich camp). Anyone know when H2H is getting changed over to 8.4 as well? Just wondering if anyone has any helpful advice. Also looking for a few games if anyone is playing this summer, just leave a msg here. All help will be greatly appreciated! I thought they'd have a newer version out by now. *Edit* how do you view those .xls files, just wondering, it is the updated file for the campaign list for july 2006, the first link that you put. RE: SPWAW 8.4 Campaigns? - Greybeard - 08-23-2006 Quite a while ago, when WAW v 8.0 (??) was released, there was some scuttlebutt that Leo was working on an update for H2H to work with v8.0 and above..little else has been heard.. Possibly a way to do it, is load H2H over 8.4, then replace the H2H 'mech.exe' file with the 8.4 'mech.exe' file. You won't need to load the 'vid998.smk' file because it's only needed for v7.1 and earlier WAW variants. This way the unit icons and sounds should be OK, as the complete H2H was installed (which includes the sound files and unit icons).. but the game will behave differently because the latest 'mech.exe' for WAW will be used. Hmm.. Yeah probably be a strange result, I guess they are just rumors about H2H being compatible with 8.4, be nice to find out! :) RE: SPWAW 8.4 Campaigns? - Alby - 08-23-2006 install H2H with 8.4 the same way you would with 7.1, but there is now a file you have to copy and rename...SPWAW.AVI or something like that. Swapping out the H2H mech with the 8.4 mech is not a good idea. The H2H mech.exe is meant specifically for H2H, so I would not use the 8.4 Mech with H2H Doing this will change all the national ratings to the 8.4 ratings, and some other things as well, the casulty reports will return, the * will return, and most likely some other stuff I have forgotten.
