River Crossing - Copper - 12-17-2006 River Crossings I have real trouble when crossing rivers in CM. A sniper can pin a whole platoon midstream.... and its scary what MG's even LMG's can do to your advance. Laying smoke is hit and miss too.... smoke doesnt take to the water... doesnt drift over the water and instead splatters the banks with the odd shell. What are your hints and tips for getting your men safely across!? Bootie RE: River Crossing - herroberst - 12-18-2006 Try Battle for Fedwar (BB) which is a good river crossing scenario I played against Jack Marissen. I could have won I think but was too timid for the reasons you state above. My advice is to have plenty of covering fire and don't be afraid to shell all suspected enemy positions. Advance recon troops on foot to discover mines, wire, enemy positions that the covering fire troops can take out. Be mindful of time, try to get on the enemy's flank. Arty and smoke of course. Mortars for AT guns. RE: River Crossing - gangofmao - 12-19-2006 Aloha Bootie... for a "mind blowing" River Crossing Operation check-out "Over the Terek H2H"... starts out like a WWI battle... most fun... i'm getting kicked in it... but is really an interesting River Crossing/River Defense OP. that may be it's only problem for some...it's an Op. but for all of you that think that, find a person you can enjoy for a long battle...and take a bite out of this... the map is not too cluttered,so the long battle flows easy... ...lol can you tell i really like this one?
