OP fire question - Dragoon - 01-11-2007

Hello,

Does anyone know if an "AA" unit will fire at an aircraft if the OP fire is set to never on all selections? or is the aircraft covered under one of the selections of hard, soft or other?

Thanks

Dragoon

If you set it to never on all it will not fire at anything including aircraft...can't remember which target type aircraft are.....probably hard?

I would think some aircraft, like IL-2 Sturmaviks, are hard targets, while most others are soft targets.

I always leave my AAA units on max range for both target types - this means I have to keep my AAA well hidden, but nearby in order for it to be effective. Not always an easy task.

RE: OP fire test - Dragoon - 01-11-2007

Hello,

Being laid up and off work I have lots of time ..so I did a lil test.

Set up 6 German AA units and 6 panzers...set the AA units OP fire the following way.
unit 1 - only to shoot at hard targets
units2 - only to shoot at soft targets
unit3 - only to shoot at other targets
units 4 to 5 OP settings to never for all targets.

Then I sent in waves of spitfires

Turned out as long as the AA units had enough action points they all fired at the aircraft regardless of their OP settings
