De-immobilizing vehicles - The Coil - 02-14-2007

ramming vehicles has to get a bonus for the 'fun factor'

RE: De-immobilizing vehicles - Copper - 02-14-2007

The tests you need to run should be based on vehicle weight. I'd like to know whether or not weight displacement ratios make any difference, or if all vehicle immobilizations are modeled under the same formula.

I suspect that they are...

Cheers!

I don't get how ramming would help. CM doesn't simulate any kind of physical forces (gravity, mechanical forces, friction). Bullet trajectories are simulated, but the rest is much like a tabletop wargame.

Ive seen vehicles push other vehicles of roads and bridges etc if they impede their way.

Are you sure it was a real push force and not a clever solution from the TacAI? Maybe the fixed vehicle just wanted to open a path for the other.

RE: De-immobilizing vehicles - Copper - 02-14-2007

Nope...definitley a push. The impeding vehicle was knocked out.

That's very interesting, I'll check it too.

RE: De-immobilizing vehicles - Colonel Talvela - 02-15-2007

you can definitely push vehicles. i cant remember exactly how it happened, but i actually had an instance where i was pushing a live enemy AFV - barrels from both AFVs pointing and firing at each other.

James, do you remember the details about that? I just know it was one of the funniest things I had seen. It was a tcp game at about 3 am, and I woke my wife up because I was laughing so loud - she didnt understand.
