Buying a Tiller game - Valgua - 03-02-2007 Hi! I'm planning to try a Tiller game and I need your advice. My first choice would be "The First Blitzkrieg". The period intrests me and I've read a couple of good reviews. What do you think? Is it fun as it seems (expecially if compared to PzC games?). Filippo RE: Buying a Tiller game - Bidermann - 03-02-2007 Well I have just started playing First Blitzkrieg. Its a very good game and hard to win against the AI . Have a look at these http://members.shaw.ca/gcsaunders/tfb.html http://military.discovery.com/randr/reviews/games/firstblitzkrieg.html RE: Buying a Tiller game - Valgua - 03-02-2007 Bidermann (FGM) Wrote:Well I have just started playing First Blitzkrieg. Its a very good game and hard to win against the AI . Tanks for your answer. The second review you linked accuse TFB to be simplistic. Is this accusation founded according to you? Filippo RE: Buying a Tiller game - Bidermann - 03-02-2007 Well in some way it is, in that unlike Panzer where you can dig in, lay mines and Art fire can be done at long range to slow the enemy and or to softern them before an attack . With BlitzKrieg the art moves with other units and attacks along with them. You can use art fire on it,s own but because you are attacking with it can get wasted. The same with pioners use them to attack forts, bunkers and trenches but use them with infantry or tank formations. What I do like is the way you can use aircraft to carry out recon and bombing, the diolog box you can keep open so its easy to move from moving your ground forces and bring air support down. The game has a simple feel but its far from simple to play, carrying point less attacks will waste your forces, keeping them in supply can be a head ache. And trying to win is bloody hard. There is less management than panzer but its a different game and works well, I think it will work better on the eastern front/ Asia mainly because there are more scenarios to play . I like the game its worth a play RE: Buying a Tiller game - Sgt Barker - 03-03-2007 |
