Mad, bad and plain stupid - cillmhor - 04-12-2007

I just wondered what crazy tactics everyone has tried in CM? And have any of them worked? This covers tactics which don't tend to stick to the rulebook or the received wisdom when playing the game. I'm new to PBEM and so I guess all of my tactics at the moment fall into the category of mad, bad or just plain stupid. Like playing a random QB in my first PBEM against an experienced player and ending up attacking across lots of lovely rolling sand dunes!

For example has anyone when defending in an attack QB sent their entire force up one flank of the enemy, leaving the flags to take care of themselves, in a bid to take their opponent by surprise? Has anyone forgotten about armour in an unrestriced QB and bulk bought loads of panzershreks in an effort to drown their opponents armour in fire from the woods, and so on...

Or what was the worst tactical blunder you ever made? Just a bit of fun, look forward to hearing any of your stories, learning what not to do is just as important as learning what to do as they say:cool:

Here is an interesting thread from a while back which reminds me of your point above.

Thanks for the heads up, yes the chaos theory certainly covers some of what I had in mind - good thread.
