B'45 Unit Ratings - Sgt Fury - 04-12-2007 I just noticed that the 76mm M42 ZiS3 (mot) artillery units are rated: Hard: 14/1 Soft: 10/13 7th Aritllery Division/46th/Army/2nd Ukranian Front (Hex 14, 161 in the Prelude Scenario). These are indirect fire units. Is it really the intent not allow ranged fire at hard targets? I suppose they could be some sort of dual purpose gun, which is fine....just wondered if it was a typo. Fury RE: B'45 Unit Ratings - Volcano Man - 04-12-2007 I think that gun was indeed used as an AT gun but it is hard to say whether it might be a mix up with the M42's AT units and the IF units. It could have been a designer decision. You might want to consider looking in the notes file for an explanation. RE:B'45 Unit Ratings - Glenn Saunders - 04-12-2007 RE: B'45 Unit Ratings - Jazman - 04-12-2007 Reminds me of British 25-pounders which, when pressed into service in North Africa in an anti-tank role, worked pretty well. It was an act of desperation, because Germans were running wild. I can't recall which battle. RE: B'45 Unit Ratings - bdtj1815 - 04-12-2007 Hi Glenn, I was hoping you could be a bit more precise about where in the notes this information is located. Been looking but cannot see anything about ratings , probably missing the obvious!! |
