Sea Stallion with "new" passengers ... - Panther - 06-10-2007 Hope i will find here an answer. Is there a possibility for cargo a light Wiesel-Tank or ATGM mounted Jeep (Air mobile units) with a Sea Stallion CH-53 Helicopter? Have no ideas. Regards, Stefan RE: Sea Stallion with "new" passengers ... - majog - 06-10-2007 Yes but not in DGVN for some reason. It was capable of both internal and external transport of supplies, the CH-53E is shipboard compatible and capable of operation in adverse weather conditions both day and night. The CH-53E is now filling a role in the Marine Corps' medium lift helicopter fleet. It had an external payload weight limit of almost 50,000lbs so could easily carry a jeep or light APC. The light tank of Viet Nam was the Bulldog and came it at 23,500+ lbs so could not be carried by the Sea Stallion. Not sure what a Wiesel tank is. RE: Sea Stallion with "new" passengers ... - majog - 06-10-2007 Correction the Bulldog came in at 23 tons making it 46,000 lbs. RE: Sea Stallion with "new" passengers ... - Panther - 06-10-2007 Jorge, the Wiesel comes at 3 tons, the ATGM-Jeeps maybe 1-1,5 tons. I set the carry/tow value of the CH-53 at 8.
