Volksgrenadiers in CM are very good choice - not so expensive but with quite big fire power thanks to SM and LMG

If you want historical Volkssturm, just select 'green' troops and switch on 'unfit'. Now I want to do a setup at least with them just to see what they look like.

Take a look at their weapons load. VS probably has lots of AT stuff. Also there is game rarity factor to consider.

The bicycle battalion in VG division was called 'Fus', short from Fusilier.

Besides, there is no rarity factor for those two infantry types in the game, it is true. I thought there was. I have checked that, and there isn't.

'44 SS Company consists of;

Co HQ
2 x HMG
3 x Plat HQ
9 x SS Rifle '44

Volksgenadier Company consists of;

Co HQ
3 x Plat HQ
3 x Volksgrenadier
4 x Volksgrenadier SMG
2 x Volksgrenadier heavy SMG

Volksstrum Company consists of;
Co HQ
3 x Plat HQ
12 x Volksstrum Militia
12 x Panzerschrek

You can see Volksstrum Co's contain more squads, (although they are slightly smaller smaller), which should enable greater flexibility and also have those 12 Panzerschreks, (which account for a fair few points).

Not sure on how the design team priced units in CMBO but Volksstrum can pack an awful big punch at ranges up to 100m so I'm assuming that is at least part of the reason. (Yes the can chuck out a lot of firepower, but don't expect them to hang around long in a sustained firefight).
