NGP Turn Length - FLG - 07-22-2007

Another NGP question.

Why does NGP use 3 and 6 hour turns when the WWII games use 2 and 4 hours? I would have thought in the faster moving NGP it would have been better to use the shorter turns as well.

If I was to change the turn length, does the game automatically base it's combat calculations on the turn length specified in the parameter file, i.e. if a I change the turn length from 3 to 2 hours would the amount of losses in combat be reduced by a third?

I suspect there would be lots of other things to change as well. Movement rates, bridging percentages, art set-up times, etc.
