Updated Normandy44 and Budapest45 art / scenario packs - Volcano Man - 08-16-2007 As described in another thread, I have just updated the Budapest45 with the customary fixes that are required when a new pack is released. Thanks to all that pointed out the errors. I have also updated Normandy44 with lots of play balance changes that was proposed since the last update. Head to www.volcanomods.com to get them. B45 changes: -replaced missing Hungarian Sturmkannone 38(t) and Sturmkannone 40 portrait (in alternate scenarios) -Corrected Russian T-34/85 unit ratings. -Corrected Russian Motorcycle and Motorized infantry unit ratings. -Corrected Russian-Guards ISU-122 ratings. -Corrected Russian SU-100 ratings. N44 changes: -Disrupted all allied engineers that arrive amphibiously on the 0600 turn. This was done primarily because gamey tactics were possible where engineer units could assault alone and get off the beach on the 0600 turn provided that the allied player could disrupt all the defenders in a hex. The reason this was possible is because engineers ignore the minefields and thus, suffer no MP penalties from landing in them. This change prevents these a-historical “engineer assaults” from happening. On the 0800 turn, engineers arrive regularly and, most likely, many of these original engineers will be undisrupted. Historically it makes sense as well since it can be said that the initial disruption of engineer units is due to the fact that when they first landed under intense fire they did not have the cohesion necessary to immediately begin clearing obstacles and mines. -Changed the withdrawal of the US 7th Naval Beach Bn from 0600 June 13th, to 0600 June 8th. This was done because by the start of the 3rd day these units were still present but they had moved into a supporting role to help with supplies and beach operations. June 13th was the date that they were completely withdrawn. -Added a withdrawal for all British Beach Sub Area territorial units to occur on 0600 June 8th. By this point these units were being divided up as replacements for the other British infantry units and while this process occurred they had moved into a supporting role in the beach areas. -Fixed all allied units on the night of the June 6th/7th and they are released on the morning of the 7th. This means that all allied units will be fixed for two night turns on the first night full night of the invasion. This was done to represent the historical period where the invasion force was reorganizing after the scattered landings and airborne drops. -------------------------------------- *if you do not play the Alt scenarios then you probably don't need to get either update unless you are planning on trying them out sometime soon* |
