Any Turtledove fans? - Warhorse - 09-09-2007

Hey guys, I put together a mod a little while ago, well over a span of a year or so, kind of based on Harry Turtledoves invasion series about an alien race of lizard type creatures invading the Earth in WW2. This uses modern Soviet materiel, has all graphics, pics, unittxt and some sounds included. It requires the Matrix edition of EF, and you will need to use the JSGME program, and easy to use modswapper available here-http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products.html.

The mod is available here-http://rapidshare.com/files/54225480/K_talia.zip.html, and there is a file in the zip called Mod install with JSGME which will explain what to do!

A screenie shows a portion of the battle with the included scenario Whirlwind.

Have fun, let me know what you think.

Mike

Mike,

I have the JSGME program installed and your mod yet I seem to be having some difficulty. All the files appear to be where they are suppose to be, Mod folder etc. yet when I launch the EF.exe in the K'talia folder I rec. the message that the application will not run because audiere.dll was not found. I should also note that it did run once but without any sound. Any ideas? Thanks

Gary

Gary,
Are you launching the game from the K'talia folder? When you run the JSGME program, and enable the mod to the right hand pane, then close, you should dbl-clk the eastfront.exe file in the EF directory. Is this what you're doing, or dbl-clking the one in the K'talia folder? You shouldn't do anything to any files in the K'talia folder, the JSGME switches everything you need to the main directory!!;-) Let me know how you make out, k?

Mike,

Okay, everything is where it's suppose to be according to the instructions in the mod zip file, however when I launch from the East Front.exe in the EF directory the Whirlwind scenario doesn't show? Any ideas?

Thanks
Gary

Hey Gary,

Weird, the scenario is in the zip, I think I know the problem. The scenario files are whirlwind labelled, but the scenario will show in the list as Invasion! The date, if you want to sort it is November 2, 1944. Sorry about that! BTW, I forgot a BMP for it, here goes!

Mike,

Got it. Should've seen the scenario files stayed in the Mod directory. Copied them into the East Front directory and everything is fine. Looks very cool.
