back to toaw - Airluca - 09-26-2007

Hi all
I took quite a long pause from toaw but i'm ready to come back in action
I own COW (and i plan to get toaw3 in a few)... does anybody still plays cow edition and wich patch ? or i better go out and buy toaw III ??

I'd like to have some games.. better if short ones... just to get in touch again with the game

So if anyone want an.. ehrr.... easy game...i'll play most of the scenarios (2-3 turns a week maybe more depending on size)

cheers
Airluca

Welcome back! I've reactivated you, you're back on the ladder now.

TOAW III is definitely a winner; there's a new beta out now, which will be released soon, but most of us are playing ver. 3.1.0.9, which is the current release version. But there are still a number playing COW. But as with some of the earlier versions, I will find it very hard to go back, now that I've upgraded.

Some fantastic, new scenarios are available, both on the CD, and online. I'm now playing Holland- A Bridge Too Far, by Erik Nygaard; it's a huge map, battalion level, nicely recreates the feel of a desperate attempt to link up with the paras, and uses a custom equipment file, so that artillery ranges, etc, are properly extended to work with the map scale. Custom .eqp files must have the exact name as the scenario, and go into another folder with the same scenario name, in the "Graphics" folder. They then work for the chosen scenario, but don't interfere with your other games using standard equipment.

Sweet

I got a copy of toaw 3 from a friend so i can try it and feel the difference from my cow version with AI

I'll also like to play pbem (maybe a small one "non-ladder" game to see if i have the right patch and to get in touch again with the game before getting back in the arena )

If anyone is interested in a fast free games drop me a turn1 any scen will be ok ;if not a cd one plz post where i can get it online since all my bookmark are quite outdated.

cheers
Luca
