Quick question about German language - Huib Versloot - 11-04-2007

What does the following sentence mean:

"Schon in der Nacht zum 16.11 war das Füs Batl. 12 in den Bereich nordwestlich von Hamich, mit der beherrschenden Höhe 232, verlegt worden."

Is this this the night from 15.11 to 16.11 (which I think it is) or is this the night from 16.11 to 17.11.
Help much appreciated.

RE: Quick question about German language - Peiper - 11-05-2007

Your right, Huib, this means the night from 15.11 to 16.11.

Greetings Bernd

Thanks Bernd! That means a new scenario is now finished.

RE: Quick question about German language - Herr Straße Laufer - 11-05-2007

"Already at the night to 16.11 was the Füs Batl. 12 shifted into the range northwest from Hamich, with the controlling height of 232."

A simple translation makes it look like the Füs Battalion was "already" established in it's position. Maybe some remaining units were finally in place on 16.11?

RE: Quick question about German language - Huib Versloot - 11-05-2007

Yes it's clear now. I was not 100% sure if it could not mean the night following 16.11, since most of the text just preceding the sentence described events in the night of 17.11 (about another unit though)

Thanks again

Huib
