Managing desert dust - Uranium - 11-08-2007 How do you guys manage the desert dust? I didt play a lot these maps and I assume the dust from tank movement lead to a full new set of tank combat strategy. From you guys experience is that a major technical issue?:chin: RE: Managing desert dust - Copper - 11-08-2007 Three things you need to know: 1) wind direction will shift the dust of moving vehicles, so you need to be cognizant of how your LOS will be affected when engaging enemy units 2) Dust patterns reveal vehicle movements, but it can be used to obfuscate or misdirect movements through mass movements in a straight line that look like only one vehicle, trucks being used as tanks, and movement through soft ground that does not cause dust clouds to puff up 3) Dust can be used for cover, IE. a tank comes up against 3 enemy tanks, and retreats backwards, causing dust to conceal movement and allow for escape...
