Then suddenly there were two moose - pretty large animals - ahead of me moving from right to left. I hit the brakes, but it was clear it wouldnt' help. I knew knew it would go BANG. The last second or so I let go of the steering wheel and covered my face with my hands. Pure instict. Killed one moose outright, wounded the other badly. It was later finished off by a policeman with his service pistol (normally hunters do this but none could be found that night)... Chill in the traffic...
