Defending the Reich: Ju-88G-6...Oh really? - HirooOnoda - 11-27-2007 The Ju-88-G6 should be renamed the "Mosquito Killer"! Honestly, I think in my last game I downed more Mossiese with these planes than the He219 did. If I remember my history correct only a handful of Mossies were shot down by enemy aircraft in the war. Am I missing something here? RE: Defending the Reich: Ju-88G-6...Oh really? - Gasbag - 11-28-2007 You mean the C-6's (B & C models)? The Ju-88 G-6 isn't available in the game. The Ju-88 G-1 is. I've never seen any Ju-88 unit catch a Mosquito so this must be a fluke/bug. Technically speaking the He-219 models provided in the game shouldn't be able to chase down Mosquitoes either. The He 219 A-6 was able to catch them as it had all excess weight removed; some weapons & radio equipment were removed. This aircraft isn't available in the game. Something else that I've noticed is that, in the game, the Do-217's don't seem to have a Schrage Musik installation. According to my sources the Do-217 nightfighter did have these. These nitpicks aside, DTR is still a pretty good title & I'd recommend it to anyone interested in the night air war over Germany. RE: Defending the Reich: Ju-88G-6...Oh really? - HirooOnoda - 11-28-2007 The version that killed so many in my game was the latest, fastest version of the Ju-88G. The game rates it as being faster, as does the game do with the He-219-A-0. RE: Defending the Reich: Ju-88G-6...Oh really? - Sgt Jasper - 11-29-2007 Somewhat off topic, Hiroo, but did you get my last turn ok? Haven't heard from you in a while. John RE: Defending the Reich: Ju-88G-6...Oh really? - HirooOnoda - 11-29-2007 Which turn? By all means, I get busy so send me a turn. I was attending to the family all last week given that it was Thanksgiving. Send me an e-mail. |
