WinSP gameplay question + tech question. - Fubar - 12-01-2007 Just setting up another game that involves lots of wooded hexs and a thought just occurred to me, does WinSP model airbursts of arty fire in trees and if so by how much does the damage caused ramp up ? In other words is infantry safer from arty in wooded hexs or clear hexs ? Also i currently have MBT installed and patched up to the latest but i want to have another install using an older patch version, whats the best way to do this without corrupting the current games i have going at the moment ? RE: WinSP gameplay question + tech question. - Grumbler - 12-02-2007 I don't think so. Nar would know for sure, but I think from the games POV, woods offer the same amount of protection as a wooden building. No air burst AFAIK. You might try fooling with the Preferences for Infantry. Make the infantry a little more vulnerable to arty. Although that will apply everywhere, if the map is mostly woods, it will be close enough for government work. RE: WinSP gameplay question + tech question. - shortreengage - 12-02-2007 Some armies get VT(variable time) fuses for airbursts. It doubles kill% That battery will only fire VT and smoke (HC no WP in game). Easiest way to install an older version: When it displays the pathway to install change it to something else such as: C:\SPMBTversion20 and lets it install. If you are applying patches to this install also then you will need to browse to the new directory of course to install them. Next go to your desk top and right click and create a new shortcut to the new directory launch. Hope that helps :) RE: WinSP gameplay question + tech question. - Fubar - 12-03-2007 General SP Wrote:Easiest way to install an older version: Many thanks GeneralSP that worked a treat, much easier than the mess i was getting into by copying and pasting files and folders. Now Greybeard can finish the beating he's giving me. ;) |
