Dnepr Rivercrossing Discussion Thread - Mad Russian - 12-05-2007 Here is the discussion thread for Dnepr rivercrossing. Any and all comments welcome. Thanks for taking a look at my scenario and making comments on it. Game Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin Author OWL Version 1.0 Filename Dnepr rivercrossing.cmf File Size 50.76 kb Turns 3 SM 6 Type Semi-Historical Scenario Date july 1941 Description Units of Panzer Gruppe Guderian are eager to cross the river Dnepr and continue their armored spearhead in eastern direction. German air recce discovered weak spots in the vicinity of KOPYS and SHKLOV. During darkness, infantry units infiltrated the Russian defense and at some locations even succeeded in crossing the river with improvised means. Armored units, however, are halted by lack of fuel and insufficient numbers of servicable tanks, so the veteran infantry has to hold the small bridgehead for an additional extra 24 hours. At day break, only a small armored recce element is send forward to link up with the infantry regiment. Russians commanders responded quickly and during the 2nd night they attacked the German bridgehead. Finally the crack units of SS Das Reich are launched to break the last defense belt in front of the river and to link up with the brave infantry. The Russians meanwhile frenziedly redeployed their last reserves and throw them into a savage counter attack! (FGM) - 05-25-2008 Hi All, I (Ken F. FGM) am Soviets vs. (herroberst) German. Also, I am Soviets vs. (redbear415 FGM) German. I expect faster turns from herroberst (based on time-zones), so redbear415 might face a disadvantage as far as FOW. Looks like a fun Op. Cheers, Ken RE: Dnepr Rivercrossing Discussion Thread - McEvilly - 06-04-2008 I am also testing this with Fluidwill RE: Dnepr Rivercrossing Discussion Thread - Mr Grumpy - 06-05-2008 Ken F. your two tests of this have not been registered on the CM H2H page, this is very important as scenarios that have no tests registered against them can be deleted as the CM page shows no testing activity! :( RE: Dnepr Rivercrossing Discussion Thread - Ken F. (FGM) - 06-16-2008 Hi All, We finished the first battle with herroberst capturing KOPYS, but I had command of the other crossing (SHKLOV...?). We are starting the night battle. I am picking up lots of armor contacts...! I'm not sure what happened to my opponent in the other battle. Great action so far...! Cheers, Ken RE: Dnepr Rivercrossing Discussion Thread - OWL - 06-29-2008 Hey gents, how are you doing in this operation? greets owl RE: Dnepr Rivercrossing Discussion Thread - Ken F. (FGM) - 07-29-2008 OWL Wrote:Hey gents, how are you doing in this operation? Hi Owl, herroberst and I fought to a Draw. I still have the last file if you want it. The CMBB game engine doesn't seem to post a percentage victory score for Ops like it does in Battles... it just says Draw. My only suggestions would be to consider giving the Germans one 88mm Flak gun to have a chance of dealing with the Soviet KV's. I was able to avoid infantry close assault on my KV monsters, and they stole a Flag back right at the end of the game. Consider giving the Soviets a few extra on-board guns as well...? Not sure... Otherwise, it was a fun game. I would reccommend it to anybody for H-2-H action. Cheers, Ken RE: Dnepr Rivercrossing Discussion Thread - Mikey_FGM - 07-29-2008 Testing this with Herroberst. Nearing end of first battle, looking forward to see how this unfolds once the reinforcements start pouring into the field... |
