THE MALITZ TROPHY COMPETITION - PoorOldSpike - 12-09-2007

It's open to everybody from any club (noobs or experienced), contact me now to sign up, you play just one game against me,and whoever beats me by the biggest score will have the gleaming silver cup sitting on their desk in Feb 2008 inscribed with their name to keep forever ..:)
I can't win it myself, I'm simply acting as a 'target' for you all take your best shots at (sniffle), and as usual I'll do a small endgame screenshot for every game showing the final front lines buckling and heaving..

A town called Malitz
It's a semi-fictional cmbb smallish (1500 pts), short (20+ turns) QB Meeting Eng as both sides rush to seize a town and its airfield in eastern Germany.
You choose your side and buy your own forces!

These well-proven params will give a good balanced mix of infantry and armour. I've kept it smallish (1500 pts and 20+ turns) in the interests of speed, especially as the competition will run over Christmas and the New Year and the last thing people will want is the heavy workload of a bigger game in the festive season..:)

Note - although the params are set for 'Armour' they still allow for plenty of infantry to be bought, as in the examples below which are typical 1500-pt forces using the above params.

There's no rush, i'll send a copy of the map to people when they sign up so they can examine it in the editor, and they can also experiment with what they can buy. (It's May 45 so there's potential for some mighty heavy metal monsters to prowl around)
Then if they decide they still want to go ahead they can either set it up themselves and send me file 001, or I can set it up..
As I said, everybody plays just one game in the competition, so the latest target date for finishing is around late January..

(Note -the percentage score readouts will be used to determine winners even if the program calls it a Draw. So for example if a game ends 51% - 49%, the guy with 51% wins the game)
PS - All games will count for the Blitz ladder (as Draw/Minor/Tac/Maj/Tot) unless players opt out before the start.
Whoever's at the top of the results table below when all games are finished will win the hallowed Trophy. At the moment Der Kuenstler has a firm grip on it, so now it's up to others to beat me by a higher margin in a feeding frenzy to tear it from his grasp before the competition ends at midnight on Jan 31st (or earlier if all games end before then)
